About the Role

The Supplier Assurance & Audit Specialist will play a crucial role in implementing the Supplier Assurance Strategy within Shared Services. This involves managing and undertaking supplier assurance and compliance audits for Procurement & Supply Chain, ensuring effective management and control while ensuring compliance to contractual terms, legislation, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct remote and onsite assurance and audit activities within our supply chain, visiting suppliers on site both within the UK and internationally to ensure adherence to contractual, legislative, or regulatory requirements.
  2. Input into the departmental strategy by communicating existing and changing key industry regulations, such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other legal, regulatory, or risk management frameworks, to the Supplier Assurance Manager for implementation into the strategy review/processes.
  3. Ensure a full audit trail is available to explain any decision not to test a scope item.
  4. Conduct due diligence assessments on suppliers to provide visibility of potential risks before onboarding.
  5. Ensure consistency of risk classifications and reporting, identifying any patterns or trends.
  6. Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure completion of assessment actions, with appropriate evidence saved to support closure/resolution and a full audit trail in place.
  7. Support ad hoc assessment requests, responding professionally to requests above BAU work where deemed appropriate.

Requirements

  1. Experience within risk/audit/legal.
  2. A strong commercial acumen.
