Job Summary

Osborne Richardson is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Officer to join our team in North London. As a Senior Planning Officer, you will be responsible for assessing planning applications, conducting site visits, and providing pre-application planning advice to prospective developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess planning applications and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with planning regulations
  • Provide pre-application planning advice to prospective developers to ensure their proposals meet planning requirements
  • Represent the Council at informal hearings and public inquiries to defend planning decisions
  • Handle planning enquiries from agents, applicants, and the public, and provide written reports and recommendations to agreed timescales
  • Work with the planning team to develop and implement planning policies and strategies to achieve the Council's objectives

Requirements

  • Proven experience in planning within a local authority setting
  • Strong knowledge of planning regulations and policies
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload to agreed timescales and quality criteria
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
