About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Custody Nurse to join our dynamic team at HCRG Care Group. As a Custody Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare to individuals in police custody.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments to determine the fitness of detainees for detention, interview, release, or transfer.
- Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illnesses or injuries, and refer onward for more serious conditions.
- Conduct forensic examinations of individuals in police care, recording and documenting injuries and collecting DNA evidence as required.
- Support the clinical governance agenda of the organization, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Administer medications through patient group directions (PGDs) and patient treatment protocols (PTPs).

Person Specification
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Custody Nurse with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role. You will need to be confident in your ability to make quick decisions and work autonomously, managing your own workload. A full driving license and ability to travel to various locations are also essential.
