Custody Nurse

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Custody Nurse to join our dynamic team at HCRG Care Group. As a Custody Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare to individuals in police custody.

Key Responsibilities

1. Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments to determine the fitness of detainees for detention, interview, release, or transfer.
2. Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illnesses or injuries, and refer onward for more serious conditions.
3. Conduct forensic examinations of individuals in police care, recording and documenting injuries and collecting DNA evidence as required.
4. Support the clinical governance agenda of the organization, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
5. Administer medications through patient group directions (PGDs) and patient treatment protocols (PTPs).

Person Specification

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Custody Nurse with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role. You will need to be confident in your ability to make quick decisions and work autonomously, managing your own workload. A full driving license and ability to travel to various locations are also essential.
