GMP Recruitment is proud to partner with a highly successful legal firm in Birmingham. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Probate Solicitor to join their team in a full-time, permanent position, based across their Birmingham offices. A hybrid-working approach is available for the right candidate.

The position involves working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The firm is offering a highly competitive salary of up to £75,000.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with experience in the field of Probate and be a highly organized individual with the ability to supervise junior members of staff.

Key responsibilities of the Probate Solicitor role include:

  • Handling a mixed caseload of high-quality matters, including disputes between beneficiaries and executors or trustees regarding the performance of their duties and the administration of estates of trusts.
  • Supervising and providing guidance to junior staff members.
  • Advising, assisting, and representing clients, maintaining an exceptionally high standard of client care.
  • Accurately recording all chargeable and non-chargeable time, ensuring efficient billing of files.
  • Contributing to marketing and business development for the firm, including identifying and facilitating internal cross-selling opportunities and carrying out business development activities.

Requirements for the Probate Solicitor role include:

  • Degree in Law or a relevant field.
  • 10 years' PQE in Contentious Probate.
  • ACTAPS qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Approachable and well-presented.
  • If you have a client network, this would be advantageous but is not essential.
