About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RF Communications Engineer to join our team at Belcan. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge RF communication systems for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement measurement/test solutions for link/modem validation.
  • Analyse calibration and metrology aspects, including statistical error analysis, confidence levels, and error budgets.
  • Design and develop modular, reusable software in Python (or similar languages) for various setups.
  • Troubleshoot and analyse link-performance issues.
  • Collaborate with DSP, hardware, and software teams to enhance system performance.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
  • 2+ years of experience with RF measurement and instrumentation.
  • 2+ years of programming experience using Python, LabVIEW, SQL, or Embedded C.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems, VLANs, and network security.
  • Hands-on RF measurement experience with analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, and network analyzers.
  • Knowledge of physical-layer modem algorithms/standards (DVB-S2, CCSDS, SG NTN).
  • Experience with link-performance measurement (link/protocol testers, channel emulators).
  • Collaborative software design experience (GIT, code reviews).
  • Antenna range experience and OTA experiment design.
  • RF test automation experience (SCPI, test executive).
  • Statistical analysis and metrology expertise.
