Health Visiting Professional

We are seeking a skilled Staff Nurse to join our team as a Development Community Staff Nurse for Health Visiting. This is an exciting opportunity to work with families and children in the community, promoting health and wellbeing.
About the Role:
- We require a registered nurse who is passionate about public health and has experience in working with families and children.
- You will be responsible for supporting health visitors in delivering high-quality care to families in the community.
- This role offers a fast-tracked pathway to the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) course, enabling you to qualify as a Health Visitor.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support families in various community settings, following the guidance of the Health Visitor, while considering the diverse social, health, and wellbeing needs of the community.
- Plan and deliver health activities for children and families, including group sessions, child health clinics, developmental reviews, and one-on-one support.
- Help families using the Solihull Approach for behaviour management, parenting skills, and care programs, especially for vulnerable families identified by the Health Visitor.
- Promote breastfeeding and strengthen parent-infant relationships by applying UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
- Collaborate with other agencies to provide seamless support for children and families, under the direction of the Health Visitor.
Requirements:
- Demonstrates an understanding of the Health Visiting service
- Competent to use a range of IT systems and databases
- Demonstrates an interest in public health and health education
- Documented evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development
