Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced staff nurse to join our recovery team in North Wing theatres. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in various specialties and work alongside our exceptional team. As a perioperative nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our theatre department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period.">
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient theatre workflow.">
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to provide exceptional patient experience and outcomes.">
  • Stay up-to-date with current clinical practices, policies, and procedures, applying evidence-based knowledge to improve patient care and safety.">
  • Participate in education and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge, promoting professional development and growth within the team.">

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • ">
  • NMC Level 1 registration or recognized qualification in Operating Department Practice, Registered with HCPC.">
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.">
  • Completion of preceptorship.">
  • Recent experience in Theatre and Anaesthetics.">
  • Experience of working on own and in a team.">
  • Able to work well within a team.">
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise & meet deadlines.">
  • Ability to administer prescribed medication including transfusion of blood and blood products.">
  • Demonstrates an awareness of clinical governance and risk management and how this affects their role and department.">
  • Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.">
  • Demonstrates ability to influence and negotiate with others.">
  • Knowledge of Evidence based practice and experience of teaching/assessing/supervising others in a clinical setting.">

Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary of £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life assurance, annual leave, and access to our employee assistance programme.
