The role you will play
As a Pool Worker at Hestia, you will be part of a dedicated staff team at our 18+ Male Approved Premises in Streatham. You will work closely with Probation Officers and community services to provide a 'stepping stone' from prison into the community.
Your responsibilities
- Model pro-social behaviour and attitudes, helping to create and maintain a positive culture of respect in all work inside and outside of the service with both clients and colleagues.
- Actively engage with residents and provide opportunities to do so, including supervising meal times and being present in the AP communal areas.
- Contribute to the delivery of the sentence plan in conjunction with colleagues in probation, the police and other external agencies.
- Provide admin and other support to colleagues, particularly in the preparation, facilitation and evaluation of rehabilitative activities.
- Follow protocols, encourage compliance and take enforcement action as necessary, in particular around drug and alcohol testing requirements and curfews.
- Ensure that colleagues, multi-agency partners and management are informed and updated as necessary.
- Actively monitor and maintain the health, safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene of the Approved Premises.
- Monitor the well-being of its occupants using information sharing, CCTV, direct observation, inspection, personal contact and other methods, as appropriate.
- Ensure that all related administration is done in good time, that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously, that information is shared appropriately, and that confidentiality is properly maintained.
- Use initiative to identify and deal with additional tasks or issues as they arise.
