Grid Maintenance and Development

This apprenticeship offers the chance to develop technical skills and knowledge in the maintenance and repair of high-voltage substation equipment. You will work with experienced engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient operation of our substations.

About the Role:

  • Maintenance and repair of substation equipment including circuit breakers, transformers, disconnectors, compressors, and auxiliary systems.
  • Contribution to the overall electricity transmission network.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operation and maintenance of substations.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop technical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Five GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, including passes in Maths and English Language (grades 4/C or above) OR a Level 2 Pass in Functional Skills.
  • A driving licence permitting you to drive in the UK by the end of your first year.
