Attendance Officer Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join our team at a client academy in Sheffield.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on student attendance and engagement. As an Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing attendance records, identifying and addressing attendance issues, and working closely with academy staff, parents, and external agencies to improve student attendance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage student attendance records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Identify and address attendance issues promptly, working with students, parents, and staff to develop strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with academy staff, parents, and external agencies to improve student attendance and engagement.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate attendance reports to inform decision-making and track progress.
  • Provide basic reception duties to support the smooth operation of the academy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Attendance Officer or in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Proficient in the use of SIMS software, particularly the Attendance function.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with strong organizational and communication skills.
