We are partnering with a renowned brand in Motorsport to find their newest Principal Telemetry Engineer, to join their specialist Engineering team, based in the Borough of Bromley (South of London).

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work on the design and development of a new telemetry system, including components such as data loggers and telemetry radios. You will be responsible for supporting the testing phase with a high level of input into the system design, field validation, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and development of a new telemetry system, including data loggers and telemetry radios.
  • Attend approximately 30% of racing events Internationally during the testing and validation phase.
  • Provide field support to operation teams, acting as the subject matter expert at approximately 50% of racing events Internationally.
  • Work with other engineering and operational teams to ensure the telemetry systems meet the team's performance and reliability requirements.
  • Maintain and support both the current telemetry system and the new system, including troubleshooting and liaising with engineering teams and internal senior stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, system architecture, and system verification and validation.
  • Experience in embedded systems development and support, especially full lifecycle.
  • Excellent planning skills, including the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
  • Ability to travel extensively internationally throughout the year.
  • Experience with networking and serial protocols, electronics hardware and software, and design principles.
  • Developing Linux kernel drivers or for an RTOS, and experience with data acquisition and analysis software.
