Software Test Engineer

MERITUS Talent is partnering with a leading Aerospace & Defence organisation to recruit a Software Test Engineer for their offices in Portsmouth on a contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge satellite communications technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement software testing solutions for satellite modem products using C++ and Linux platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement test plans, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
  • Design and implement unit and integration tests using tools like Google Test and Robot Framework.
  • Work closely with engineers to diagnose and resolve software issues in the laboratory prototyping environment.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in modern C++ software engineering on Linux platforms.
  • Experience with device management interfaces (e.g. SNMP, Web) for design, implementation, and test.
  • Proficiency in Git for version control and Eclipse CDT for development.
  • Knowledge of unit and integration test tools (e.g. Google Test, Robot Framework).
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with system and software modelling tools like Enterprise Architect (SysML / UML).
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments (e.g. Atlassian Jira, Confluence, BitBucket).
