Highways Infrastructure Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Supervisor - Highways to join our team at Tarmac Trading Limited in the South East region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Surfacing Maintenance and a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
About the RoleThe role of Contracts Supervisor - Highways is responsible for the successful delivery of Surfacing matters on behalf of Tarmac to our clients. This includes managing teams on site, obtaining the best possible commercial result for the projects, and successfully managing any challenge process that may arise.
- Effective planning, programming, and delivery of project works;
- Achievement of Company and Contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPIs;
- Ensuring change controls are diligently managed on contracts and site;
- Effectively managing site teams to ensure career progression and competency is achieved;
- Working collaboratively with Tarmac Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisor to promote best practice across all works;
- Ensuring all Health and Safety standards are being adhered to across all works, alongside collaborating, promoting, and developing Health, Safety, and wellbeing innovations with Zero accidents and environmental incidents;
- Ensuring training qualifications and competence requirements are in place and monitored for all employees within their team;
- Ensuring any CDM regulations (principle contractor responsibilities) are being adhered to across all works;
- Ensuring environmental processes and best practice across the contract;
- Ensuring all Health & Safety briefings are delivered to teams;
The successful candidate will be required to travel across the region of work.
About YouTo be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- A strong background in Surfacing Maintenance and a proven track record of delivering successful projects;
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing leadership in the role;
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels;
- Computer literacy, including Excel and Word;
- A certificate in Site Safety Management;
- Experience in Surfacing Maintenance at a supervisory level, specifically in surfacing works and construction;
- A CSCS card and SMSTS certificate;
- A flexible approach to location and working patterns in accordance with the needs of the business.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE FIRST AID TRAINING AND MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING, IOSH TRAINING.
