Job Overview

The Old Vic is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to join our Theatre Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing health, safety, and compliance support during the mobilisation, opening, and initial period of operation of The Old Vic Backstage. This fixed-term role will assist with identifying and documenting new safe ways of working, processes, and policies associated with opening a new six-floor public space.

About the Role

This full-time position offers a flexible mix of home working and office hours from The Old Vic, located in London. You will work closely with senior leaders, colleagues, and contractors to ensure a holistic approach to health, safety, and compliance across the organisation. Your expertise will be essential in providing H&S support to colleagues, ensuring good contractor management processes, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day oversight for all health, safety, and compliance matters
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and document new safe ways of working
- Develop and implement effective health, safety, and compliance strategies
- Maintain accurate records and reports on health, safety, and compliance activities

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must hold an IOSH qualification and have demonstrable experience in a similar position. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Action-oriented and results-driven, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be committed to delivering high-quality results.

What We Offer
