About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team at Quilter. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future roadmap of our Data Platform and driving the development of our data services.

You will be responsible for building out framework enhancements to optimize the Data Platform for current and future usage, as well as helping to shape how we grow our Data Engineering service. You will work closely with our Technology Product Owner to manage task assignments and risk escalation, with a focus on quality, collaboration, and team work.

The ideal candidate will have extensive and demonstrable technical knowledge in key areas such as Azure Data Services, Spark, and Python, as well as experience in data pipelines and DevOps. You will be a thought leader, able to bring a team of technical engineers together and drive prioritization of technical deliveries alongside business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of our Data Platform and drive the growth of our Data Engineering service

Requirements
  • Extensive and demonstrable technical knowledge in key areas such as Azure Data Services, Spark, and Python
  • Experience in data pipelines and DevOps
  • Ability to bring a team of technical engineers together and drive prioritization of technical deliveries alongside business requirements
  • Proven experience in one or more of the following: Azure Data Services, Microsoft BI, SQL, Integration and ETL design and delivery, Data visualisation, Developing analytical use cases using Spark programming in Python and one other language
