Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dispensing Assistant to join our team at Contract Personnel Ltd. As a key member of our practice team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assisting in Dispensing: Provide general advice and guidance to customers, ensuring they receive the best possible service.
  2. Implementing Minor Repairs: Effectively implement minor repairs to frames, ensuring they are returned to customers in excellent condition.
  3. Conducting OCT and Visual Field Tests: Conduct OCT, retinal photography, tonometry, and visual field tests, and report any unusual or abnormal features to the optometrist.
  4. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and report to the Practice Manager as required.
Selling and Customer Relationship Management
  1. Maximising Sales: Maximise sales while minimising costs, ensuring the achievement of specified margins and targets.
  2. Customer Needs Assessment: Ascertain the wants and needs of each customer, providing tailored recommendations and solutions.
  3. Merchandise Selection and Presentation: Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and wants, ensuring excellent presentation and display.
  4. Product Knowledge and Description: Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, as well as policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security, and describe merchandise and its use, benefits, operation, and care to customers.
  5. Customer Service and Security: Serve customers, bag and package purchases, observe and identify security risks and theft, and prevent and attend to these occurrences appropriately.
  6. Excellent Customer Service: Ensure that the practice provides excellent customer service at all times, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  7. Telephony and Enquiries: Answer telephones, deal with enquiries and appointments, and manage enquiries, complaints, refunds, etc., as required.
Teamwork and Communication
  1. Implementing Policies and Procedures: Implement the policies and procedures set out in the Employment Handbook.
  2. Positive Working Relationships: Contribute to positive working relationships within the team, showing courtesy and respect to colleagues.
  3. Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with others in the team, working collaboratively to meet the objectives of the business.
  4. Improving Ways of Working: Put forward ideas and feedback during team meetings to improve ways of working.
Health and Safety/Environmental Health
  1. Maintaining a Safe Working Environment: Implement the legal obligation to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  2. Following Health and Safety Procedures: Follow the company's procedures, as described in the Health and Safety Policy.
  3. Reporting Accidents and Near Misses: Report anything unsafe to the Operations Director, and report accidents, near misses, and so on in the accident book.
