Project Buyer - Wolverhampton

Jonathan Lee Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Project Buyer to join their Wolverhampton-based manufacturing and engineering business. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for driving procurement success and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with Engineering to agree on material specifications and timelines that keep projects moving forward.
  2. Proactively engage with suppliers to mitigate risks and identify long lead items that could affect delivery.
  3. Work with the project team to handle contract variations and changes smoothly and efficiently.
  4. Ensure non-conformance issues are swiftly managed, ensuring projects remain on track.
  5. Monitor and report on supplier performance and technical queries to maintain high standards.
Requirements:
  1. A strong understanding of project life cycles, procurement strategies, and cost management.
  2. Experience in managing supplier contracts, mitigating risks, and driving cost-saving initiatives.
  3. At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement within a project environment.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with technical knowledge of engineering drawings and metallurgical properties as a bonus.
