Science Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Science Technician to support a dynamic learning environment in a secondary school. As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's laboratories, assisting teachers and students with practical science activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scientific Equipment Preparation: Prepare, organise, and set up scientific equipment, chemicals, and materials needed for practical science lessons across biology, chemistry, and physics.
• Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain laboratory cleanliness, ensuring equipment and materials are safely stored, labelled, and regularly serviced.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of lab supplies, placing orders and updating records as needed.
• Health and Safety: Strictly adhere to and enforce health and safety protocols, providing a safe learning environment for students and staff.
• Assistance with Demonstrations: Assist in demonstrations and practical lessons, guiding students and answering questions to foster curiosity and a deeper understanding of scientific principles.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a solid background in science, ideally with laboratory experience, whether in an educational, research, or clinical setting. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of laboratory health and safety standards are crucial for this role.
