About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our gastroenterology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal cancer, and other conditions.
  • Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies, including colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies, and ERCPs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop strategies for improving services.
Requirements
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • CCT in Gastroenterology and GIM or within 6 months of obtaining.
  • Broad experience in gastroenterology clinic and ward work.
  • Meets BSG/JAG standards.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Higher research degree.
  • Evidence of specialist IBD and Nutrition medical knowledge.
  • Independent in IBD surveillance endoscopy.
  • Independent in intestinal ultrasound.
