CNC Machinist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Gi Group. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for machining complex parts in a variety of materials, including nickel alloys, stainless steels, titanium, aluminium, and carbon steels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machining of complex parts in a variety of materials
  • Programming, setting, and operating of machines as required
  • Using quality measuring equipment, including verniers and callipers
  • Deburring of components where required
  • Work to an exacting quality standard to ensure parts are machined right first time and on time
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping to ensure the on-going cleanliness of the facilities
  • Ensure that route card instructions are followed and that all documentation is completed to company procedures
  • Perform periodic maintenance checks of equipment as appropriate
  • Proactively identify and suggest improvement opportunities

Qualifications / Experiences:

  • Skilled CNC Miller
  • Programmer Setter Operator
  • Be able to read and work from complex engineering drawings
  • Able to use measuring tools, including verniers, calipers, and verniers
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a precision machining role
  • Experience of multiple control systems is preferred (Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol)
  • Experience of relevant industries, Nuclear, Automotive, Aerospace
  • Experience of working to tight tolerances
