Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £46,000 - £54,000 per annum, reflecting your expertise and experience. In addition to a starting salary within this range, you will also be eligible for:

  • A generous annual performance-based bonus
  • A hybrid working model offering flexibility between home, site, and office
  • 26 days annual leave, plus eight statutory days
  • The option to buy additional or sell holiday days
  • Contributory pension scheme with employer matching up to 12%
Job Description

As an Energy Transition Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of Connection Reform and the Connections Action Plan within National Grid Electricity Transmission. Your key duties will include:

  • Programme Management: Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of assigned programmes and projects, aligning with overall objectives and strategic aims defined by senior leadership.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Subject Matter Experts, project teams, and senior management, and collaborate with external partners to drive programme objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with programme delivery, developing mitigation strategies to minimise potential impact.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish robust performance monitoring mechanisms to track progress, milestones, and KPIs for programmes under your responsibility.
Requirements

To succeed in this challenging role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Project Management)
  • Proven experience as a Project or Programme Manager in a regulated industry, preferably in the energy or utilities sector
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and drive successful programme delivery
