About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Young Persons Worker. In this role, you will be working with young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse or their mental health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a caseload of young people to assess their needs, develop care plans, and deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to other specialist support when needed.
  • Proactively engage with young people to provide them with the support, training, education, and guidance they need to better understand the implications of the situations they may face and the decisions they may take.
  • Design, develop, and deliver sessions and/or materials that will resonate with young people and clearly communicate important messages to them.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of these sessions/materials to ensure they have the greatest impact and use your time with young people to the best effect.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of substance and alcohol misuse.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • The ability to work with a Young Person cohort and build a positive rapport with them.
  • The ability to complete group work with Young People.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging delivery of presentations.
  • Good organisational skills to be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising your work and being able to cope with the pressure of competing demands.
  • The ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing your skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Experience of assessing risk to ensure a safe, appropriate environment for all.
  • Experience of managing an active caseload of clients, providing substance misuse interventions and/or other psychosocial and harm reduction interventions in compliance with With You's guidelines.
