About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Rogers McHugh Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and commercial aspects of fit-out projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Lead cost estimation, value engineering, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis, risk assessments, and produce financial reports
  • Manage budgets, project costs, and ensure value for money for both the company and clients
  • Oversee procurement processes, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Administer contracts and handle variations, claims, and final accounts
  • Provide expert advice on commercial strategy and contract selection
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the quantity surveying team
Requirements
  • Consultancy experience in the construction or fit-out industry is desired
  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record in retail, hospitality, leisure, or healthcare fit-out projects
  • In-depth knowledge of contract administration (JCT, NEC, etc.) and cost management
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage high-value, complex projects independently
  • Leadership skills and experience in mentoring junior staff
  • High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills
