Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate as directed by Contract Manager, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standard and within capabilities and training.
  2. Work on own or as part of a team to meet required deadlines and contract performance standards, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  3. Work flexible working hours to suit business requirements, including out of hours call out rota and emergency mechanical repair works as required.
  4. Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, end users on site, and the general public, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
  5. Escalate issues to Supervisor/Contract Manager immediately, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
  6. Liaise with site staff to gain access to sites and rooms to carry out maintenance tasks, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  7. Assist contract supervisor to produce repair quotations, providing accurate and timely information to support business decisions.
  8. Any other tasks required by the company within skill set/experience, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Domestic / Commercial gas certification CCN1, CENWAT, CODNCCO1, CDGA1, and CIGA1.
  2. Recognised Health & Safety training, ensuring a strong understanding of protocols and procedures.
  3. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  4. Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, prioritizing quality and service excellence.
  5. Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation, with a strong understanding of technology and its applications.
  6. Full driving licence, with the ability to travel to sites as required.
  7. Pass DBS / Police background checks for working in schools / Police stations, ensuring a clean and trustworthy record.

Desirable:

  1. NVQ 2/3 in relevant Mechanical discipline (or equivalent experience), demonstrating a strong foundation in mechanical principles and practices.
  2. OFTEC registered technician or knowledge/experience working on oil fired appliances/systems, with a strong understanding of oil-based systems and their applications.
  3. LPG, unvented water systems, and WRAS Qualification, with a strong understanding of relevant systems and protocols.
  4. Electrical safety training, with a strong understanding of electrical safety principles and practices.
  5. IPAF / PASMA qualification, with a strong understanding of access equipment and its safe use.

Benefits:

  1. £55,000 per annum DOE, with opportunities for annual bonus and overtime.
  2. 33 Days Holiday, with a vehicle (personal use) and travel time provided.
