Job Title: Senior Financial Modeller

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Modeller to join our Business Model Innovation team at Energy Systems Catapult. As a Senior Financial Modeller, you will play a key role in applying financial modelling tools and methods to assess the commercial viability of new business models in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage high-quality financial analysis tools and models to evaluate the commercial viability of projects and business models
  • Support the development of new business models and provide expert input into other ESC projects
  • Apply and continue to develop ESC's methodology for assessing and testing new energy system business models
  • Provide expert advice and analysis to inform business cases, economic evaluation, and cost-benefit analysis for ESC platforms and partners
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., mathematics, accounting, or finance)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead on projects and analyse large data sets to extract meaningful insight
  • Experience of helping bring new innovation and concepts to market with both large corporates and small businesses
  • Strong understanding of discounted cashflow methods, economic and financial appraisal, literate and numerate, statistically literate
  • Understanding of the energy system, policy, and issues relevant to the energy transition
