Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their SEN department in Central Manchester. This full-time position will commence in September, providing a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the learning development of students with autism.

The ideal candidate will possess experience working with children with autism or a recent psychology graduate with a good understanding of special needs. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, reporting to the SENCO, and be responsible for managing challenging behavior and building relationships with pupils.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to provide additional learning support
  • Managing behavior that has the potential to be challenging
  • Building relationships with pupils to support their learning development
  • Being fully aware of safeguarding procedures and able to deal with any situations that may arise
