About the Role


At Ribbons & Reeves, we are seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a leading secondary school in Barnet. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support due to various special needs.



Your Key Responsibilities



  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them develop academically and socially.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), teachers, and other professionals to implement tailored learning plans that cater to individual students' needs.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes academic growth, social development, and emotional well-being for students with special needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding in all interactions.
  • Utilize a range of strategies to engage students with different learning styles and abilities, facilitating their learning experience.
  • Contribute to monitoring and tracking student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and participating in review meetings.


Your Ideal Profile


We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant who has prior experience working with students with special needs. You should have:



  • A strong academic background, preferably a First Class degree from a top university.
  • Prior experience in a SEN support role or a strong interest in working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and parents.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs.
