About the Role

We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to strengthen our team in London. The successful candidate will work as a senior material handling engineer within the piping & layout engineering team in the delivery of material handling design requirements on various projects, including offshore oil & gas platforms, wind farm HVDC platforms, FPSO, and onshore carbon capture / hydrogen projects.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that material handling engineering activities are performed in accordance with Aker Solutions' values, attitudes, and contractual requirements. This includes ensuring technical correctness of deliverables and compliance with international codes & standards, client specifications, and project standards.

A strong track record in material handling engineering roles in detailed engineering is essential for this position. Proficient skills in design software such as E3D, Navisworks, and Autocad are also required. Experience with offshore platforms and in particular wind farm HVDC platforms, including HVDC equipment handling, is beneficial. Experience in modularisation for onshore projects is also beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing material handling engineering for all project phases: pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering / EPC.
  • Identification and 3D modelling of material handling equipment requirements and transport/transit routes.
  • Preparing and checking discipline deliverables such as Material Handling Philosophy, Crane Study Report, Material Handling Report, Review and input to cable pulling report.

In return, you can expect a competitive salary of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional development and career growth.
