Job Description

As a Track Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, inspecting and repairing the track network (also known as the Permanent Way or P-Way) to keep the railway safe and efficient. This is a very manual role as you'll be working with rails, sleepers and ballast that support the trains, together with their associated drainage and ancillary structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and inspecting the track network to ensure it's safe and efficient
  • Repairing defects and faults in the track network
  • Working outdoors in all conditions, at all times of the year, day or night
  • Transporting kit across tricky terrain
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in a similar field
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to work safely and efficiently in challenging environments
  • Valid driving licence (category B)
