We are seeking a professional interpreter to work with our team at Language Empire. As a freelance interpreter, you will have the opportunity to work in various settings, including the NHS, local authorities, police, probation, and other public and private organizations.
Our team provides professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK. With over 20 years of experience, we have established ourselves as a trusted provider of language services.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and another language, have the right to work in the UK, and be aged 21 or over. Formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages are advantageous.
As a freelance interpreter, you will have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home and choose your own schedule. You will also have access to ongoing help and support from our dedicated in-house team.
Our services include face-to-face, telephone, and video interpreting, as well as translation services. We are currently recruiting for interpreters to work in various locations across the UK.
If you are a professional interpreter looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply for this role. Please note that this is a self-employed position.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
- Checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence
- Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
