We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Manager to join our team at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Ward Manager and team of nursing staff within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) / Acute Medical Assessment (AMA) and Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC).
Main Responsibilities- Lead and assess the work of the nursing team, building upon your own clinical and managerial experience.
- Support the Ward Manager with the continuous improvement of the department, effectively monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of care that are reflected by patient experience.
- Supervise, manage and control the activities of a department in an efficient and effective manner.
- Assess and implement appropriate care for new and current patients, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained and resources used appropriately.
- Participate in the teaching, training and supervision of all grades of staff.
- Be receptive to change, dynamic and demonstrate active assistance and support to your more senior colleagues in the ongoing development of the department.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive management style, anticipating and dealing with issues constructively within the multidisciplinary team setting.
- Flexibility in your approach to the role and respond appropriately to the demands of an ever-changing workload.
- Ability to be a role model for continuous professional behaviour and demonstrate the core values of the Trust.
