Yard Operative/Handy Person

At Allied Vehicles Group, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Yard Operative/Handy Person to join our facilities team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and maintenance of our yard areas.

Main duties of the role include:

  • Patrolling all yard areas to ensure security and safety
  • Inspecting vehicles entering and leaving the premises
  • Monitoring security cameras and reporting any incidents to management or the police
  • Recording events during the shift in the security log
  • Controlling access to the site and preventing unauthorized removal of vehicles or company property
  • Maintaining good housekeeping in the yard at all times
  • Performing general yard duties, including weeding and power washing

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent time-management skills, the ability to juggle a busy workload, and remain calm under pressure. You will be a great team player with a commitment to offering first-class customer service. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

A driving license is essential for this role. The rota will consist of covering days and nights, with a 1-week rotation of 39 hours and a 3-week rotation of 52 hours. The salary is £11 per hour.
