About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading manufacturer and supplier of powertrain products in the UK and Ireland, specializing in Engine Overhaul, Final Drive Overhaul, and Locomotive Refurbishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and modification programs on diesel engines (Class 1800 MTU).
  • Provide first-line support and advice to customers.
  • Diagnose faults and resolve breakdowns in the field.
  • Liaise with internal teams (Quality, Engineering, Projects) to ensure successful issue resolution.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals in both German and English.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience on heavy diesel engines or large vehicles (experience with rolling stock preferred).
  • NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline.
  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Fluency in German (exceptions may be made for candidates with a good understanding of the language).
  • Ability to read technical documentation in both German and English.
