Student Librarian

Messiah College's Murray Library is hiring a Student Librarian to support our circulation department. As a Student Librarian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the library's collection, handling opening/closing procedures, and monitoring building premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage circulation duties, including check-in, check-out, holds, class reserves, and interlibrary loans.
• Assist patrons with library and academic related questions, providing expert guidance and support.
• Maintain the library collection, ensuring accurate cataloging and organization.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service, embodying the college's values of hospitality and respect.

Requirements:

• Prior experience working in a library or customer-facing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with software applications.

The estimated salary for this position is around $12-$15 per hour, depending on experience. As a part-time student position, it offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge while contributing to the academic success of Messiah College students.
