We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a welcoming special school in North Birmingham. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to children with a range of special educational needs.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work closely with an experienced team of teaching assistants, providing 1-2-1 and class support for primary aged children with special educational needs. If you have a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing outstanding support, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, including Autism, Complex Needs, and Aspergers'.
  • Work closely with the experienced team of teaching assistants to provide the best possible support.
  • Understand and implement individualized support plans to meet the needs of each child.
  • Support children on a 1-2-1 basis, delivering intervention where required.
  • Manage behaviors, helping children to engage with lessons.
  • Record progress of children and report to the SENCO.
