About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor to join our team at Nottingham City Council Housing Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our staff, tenants, and other citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operational delivery of health and safety management systems, ensuring compliance and continual improvement.
  • Maintain and update health and safety policies, procedures, and guidance.
  • Conduct site inspections of offices and workplaces to ensure health and safety standards are being met.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, identifying lessons learned to reduce risk in the business.
  • Support the management of risks from hand-arm vibration, construction dust, and occupational health surveillance.
  • Develop and present written and verbal information in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent and relevant membership of IOSH.
  • Ability to demonstrate specialist skills, knowledge, and experience in current Health & Safety topics affecting housing providers.
  • Able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Experience of working with others to improve organizational safety culture.
  • Proven experience of the practical application of legislation in the workplace.
  • Experience of leading training and workshops.
