Job Title: SEMHC Teacher
Job Summary:
The Youth Education Service is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMHC Teacher to join their team of highly qualified staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a Year 7 class, delivering a tailored curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the KS2 link teacher to ensure various subjects are implemented in their phase.
- Plan and deliver a curriculum (not including science/art) for with a focus on SEMH needs.
- Adapt teaching strategies and specific lesson plans to meet individual learning needs.
- Liaise with support staff, therapists, and external agencies including parents and carers to ensure development of each young person.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, implementing interventions where necessary.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH difficulties.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Nurturing but able to instill boundaries.
- Preferably fully inducted however if you have previous experience supporting children outside of teaching this will be considered.
