Job Description

Halmer Recruit is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventive Maintenance: Complete regular maintenance tasks on production machines to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Maintain the fabric of the building, including inspecting and maintaining water, electric, and air services.
  • Breakdown Response: React quickly to production breakdowns, ensuring all relevant personnel are aware of the machine status.
  • Collaboration: Assist other departments as needed to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Design and Fabrication: Assist in the design and manufacture of jigs and fixtures to aid production.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies, anticipating needed items and raising purchase requisitions to maintain stock levels.
  • Communication: Provide mechanical maintenance information to colleagues and management.
  • Contract Management: Ensure annual contracts are renewed and carried out by contractors in a timely and safe manner.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: City & Guilds Electrical Installation, NVG Electrical Installation, 17th BS7671:2008.
  • Skills: Troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, planning, and organization skills.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills and a strong understanding of the English language.
  • Experience: Experience with ProntoTRAK CNC mill controls or similar, GE Fanuc series Oi CNC lathe controls or similar, and PLC programming.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to undertake manual handling, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crouching.
Working Conditions:
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00am until 16:30pm (12pm finish on Fridays).
  • Pay: £40k+ per annum.
