Theatre and Recovery Practitioner - Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner

We are seeking highly motivated practitioners to join our Theatre, Recovery & Post Op team at the East Midlands Planned Care Centre.

The East Midlands Planned Care Centre is a state-of-the-art facility that provides a high volume of patients per day with a range of specialties including General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology & ENT.

As a Theatre and Recovery Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering all aspects of peri-operative care, including theatre work, recovery, and postoperative care. You will be multi-skilled and flexible, rotating between specialties and working closely with the surgical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

The Surgical Daycase Unit is a unique facility that covers the whole patient surgical journey, from admissions to discharge. You will work closely with the team to ensure that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout their stay.

Within the building is the Post Op Unit, staffed days and nights to admit patients who require a short extended stay. You will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring that the delivery of care meets the standards determined by the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader.

Ensure that self and team members act at all times to provide a personalised service to patients in accordance with agreed standards and promotes quality, diversity, and rights.

Contribute to setting, maintaining, and monitoring of standards of care to the optimum level and lead the improvement of care, through benchmarking, audit, and research.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Degree in nursing or health-related subject
  • Recognised NMC Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent
Experience
  • Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the grade applied for
