Maintenance Technician

Elis, a leader in circular services, seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.
We are looking for an experienced engineer who can work independently and as part of a team to maintain and repair our equipment, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
The position requires shift work, including days and nights, with a 4 on and 4 off pattern.
Your Responsibilities
- To ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently, feeding back information to the Senior Engineer to improve the maintenance process.
- To work closely with other engineers to ensure a smooth handover of ongoing activities and sharing best practices as required.
- To provide input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities, working with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to identify long-running problems and suitable solutions.
- To ensure that equipment performance, reliability, and running costs are continuously improved, always looking to reduce replacement parts and consumables.
- To undertake repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner, ensuring Production is constantly updated on progress.
- To undertake remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
- To ensure any risks of safety or failure of equipment or site are communicated to the Manager.
- To work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to ensure contractors are working safely on site and adhering to site Health and Safety rules and procedures.
- To ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the SSG Health and Safety manual, as well as in accordance with relevant engineering standards.
- To report any incidents, accidents, and near misses in accordance with Health and Safety Policies.
- To ensure that equipment provided for the protection of health and safety is maintained and used appropriately, and in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- To ensure that safe systems of work and best practice procedures are adhered to.
- To maintain excellent communication between Production staff and co-workers.
