About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Nightingale Care Home. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, fostering a welcoming environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity.

You will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility. You will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping them maintain a good quality of life.

As a member of our frontline team, you will work closely with the nursing and healthcare team to ensure the wellbeing and comfort of residents. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and homely environment for residents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping them maintain a good quality of life.
  • Help residents maintain independence where possible, encouraging involvement in activities.
  • Assist with moving and handling residents using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Support the nursing and healthcare team by monitoring residents' well-being and reporting any changes in their health or behaviour.
  • Follow care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment for residents.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience in Health and Social Care preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A good standard of oral and written English.
  • A non-judgemental approach to others.
  • Excellent communication skills with the compassion required to deliver high-quality care to our residents.
  • Respectful to not only residents but the values and beliefs of other team members.
