Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and friendly Occupational Therapist to join our small but expanding OT department. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, independent approach to work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage an individual caseload of pupils with less complex occupational therapy needs.
  • Conduct observations and assessments to understand pupils' occupational performance strengths and areas of need.
  • Work with pupils, parents, and school staff to set client-centred occupational therapy targets.
  • Produce comprehensive and accurate assessment reports annually.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate case notes in line with RCOT professional standards.
  • Plan and conduct evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including community visits.
  • Provide advice to pupils and relevant individuals.
  • Work with other professionals to ensure holistic care for pupils.
  • Deliver training to promote positive occupational therapy practices.
  • Attend annual reviews for pupils with Education, Health & Care plans (EHCPs).
  • Produce your own timetable to ensure funded provision is met.
  • Report any concerns regarding funded provision to the line manager.
  • Maintain and care for equipment, ensuring standards of infection control and safety.
  • Ensure sufficient resources for individual caseloads.
  • Work with senior colleagues to produce purchase orders for required equipment.
  • Contribute to the development of OT students as required.
  • Engage in continuing professional development and self-directed learning.
  • Demonstrate clinical effectiveness through evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
  • Attend regular supervision sessions and periodic Personal Development Meetings.
  • Find and attend external training programs beneficial for pupils and the school.
Requirements:
  • HCPC registered.
  • Relevant degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy with pupils and their families.
  • Ability to manage own time and caseload, prioritising tasks with support.
  • Excellent reflection skills.
  • Experience working with pupils aged 7-18 with Occupational Therapy needs.
  • Knowledge of Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ASD, ADHD, and associated conditions.
  • Experience in clinical assessment, planning and implementing intervention programs, and report writing.
  • Up-to-date clinical knowledge.
