Job Title: Account Payable Controller Hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Payable Controller Hybrid to join our finance team at Kensington & Chelsea Social Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the sales, purchase, and cash ledgers of our finance system, working closely with our finance department.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process and record suppliers' invoices, reconcile suppliers' statements to the purchase ledger, and serve as the primary point of contact with suppliers.
  2. Set up new suppliers and debtors, ensuring accurate and up-to-date creditor listings.
  3. Manage sales ledger credit control and maintain debtors' lists, ensuring timely payments and accurate financial records.
  4. Raise fortnightly electronic and manual payments to suppliers, including government institutions such as HMRC.
  5. Reconcile credit card statements and post all bank and investment statements, ensuring accurate financial records.
  6. Reconcile suppliers' statements, advising on accruals and prepayments, and process staff expenses.
  7. Maintain invoice filing and archiving, posting transactions to the ledgers, and raising sundry invoices for collection.
  8. Manage electronic banking data, posting income to accounting software, and prepare banking for rent and non-rent receipts.
  9. Advise budget holders on invoice, purchase order, and authorization processes on Focal Point, and support the Senior Finance Officer with month-end postings, reconciliations, year-end schedules, and annual budgets.
Requirements:
  1. A minimum of two years' experience in a busy accounts department, with a high standard of numeracy.
  2. Experience with accurate data input or maintaining a computerized accounts system, with high computer literacy and practical experience with MS Office packages, especially MS Excel.
  3. Ability to follow agreed financial procedures, including credit control, raising invoices, maintaining nominal ledgers, bank reconciliations, and electronic banking.
  4. Good organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize work under pressure, and knowledge of computerized accounting packages, preferably Access Dimensions and Focal Point.
  5. Studying towards AAT qualification.
