About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Quality Specialist to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Audit Quality Directorate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality audits that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide support to our audit teams in the areas of internal quality monitoring and regulator review support. You will work closely with our audit managers and directors to identify and address quality issues, and provide guidance and training to our audit teams on audit methodologies and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal quality monitoring reviews of completed audits to ensure compliance with auditing standards and firm policies
  • Provide support to audit teams undergoing external regulator reviews, including AQR reviews
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance audit quality and consistency
  • Collaborate with audit teams to identify and address quality issues, and provide guidance and training on audit methodologies and standards
Requirements
  • ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification
  • Expert knowledge of UK auditing standards and experience of financial services audits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
