Senior Developer Opportunity

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer to join their team for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend. This role will involve a hybrid of working at home and in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Continued enhancement of the Housing Management product portfolio based on customer feedback.
  2. Development and support of Housing Management products in line with the product and architecture roadmaps.
  3. Collaborative software development practice focused on delivering high-quality, maintainable, and appropriate artefacts.
  4. Participation in team events, leading where specialist knowledge is required, and supporting process improvement through inspection and adaptation.
  5. Engagement with the wider communities of practice and interest to share knowledge, technique, and experience.
  6. Ensuring high-quality developed solutions through development and maintenance of unit tests and code analysis.
  7. Compliance with non-functional requirements, such as accessibility, security, UI/UX, performance, maintainability, deployability, etc.
  8. Use of collaborative development practices, including pairing and mobbing techniques, code reviews, system design, and requirements analysis/refinement.
  9. Support and delivery of disaster recovery assurance of digital services, striving towards a sustainable Recovery Time Objective of 2hrs and Recovery Point objective of zero.
  10. Data modelling and SQL development, ideally PostgreSQL.
  11. REST APIs, AWS, Modern DevOps and CI/CD practices, including deployment pipelines.
  12. Delivering high-quality software collaboratively in high-performing, cross-functional development teams.
  13. Designing, gaining consensus, and implementing technical solutions for software development projects.
  14. Designing and implementing solutions using microservice and event-based architectures.
  15. Using testing tools for unit testing, including system test automation frameworks.
  16. Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes, including Grafana.
  17. Formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development.
  18. Using UI pattern libraries to achieve consistent, tested, and high-quality interfaces.
  19. Code quality, monitoring, telemetry, and analytics tools.
  20. Defining infrastructure as code.
  21. HTML/CSS and awareness of accessibility considerations.
  22. Testing tools and frameworks, e.g. Cypress.
  23. Performance tuning and testing.
  24. CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
  25. OpenShift.
  26. Spring Web Flow and Spring MVC.
  27. OAuth2.
  28. Template engines such as Thymeleaf.
  29. Typescript.
