We are seeking an experienced professional who can build strong relationships with our teams and contractors to achieve seamless day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all plant, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and in good working condition.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a maintenance program to ensure all systems are inspected regularly;
- Conducting weekly sprinkler tests to verify all systems function correctly;
- Inspecting external fire doors monthly, ensuring free and unobstructed opening;
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections and testing;
- Ensuring compliance with PUWER regulations through regular checks;
- Carrying out emergency light testing on a monthly basis;
- Monitoring MHE battery levels and topping them up as needed;
- Participating in the racking inspection team, checking for damage on a weekly basis;
- Inspecting heaters weekly against a visual inspection list;
- Testing box strappers weekly for full functionality;
- Verifying exterior building lights monthly against site plans;
- Performing weekly generator inspections, running tests off-load monthly, and full-load testing every three months;
- Checking fridge and conditioning room systems weekly;
- Inspecting internal fire doors monthly;
- Verifying pallet wrappers weekly for damage and debris buildup;
- Inspecting trolleys monthly for damage;
- Coordinating annual fire extinguisher checks with an external contractor;
- Testing fire bells weekly;
- Reporting racking repairs as needed and maintaining records;
- Instructing new contractors on site safety and procedures before starting work;
- PAT testing new items when received and annually by an external contractor;
- Addressing miscellaneous repairs and issues promptly;
- Conducting warehouse walks to identify potential problems;
- Updating system records as necessary;
- Providing support for CCTV requests in line with company policy;
- Serving as the first point of contact for vending machines;
- Familiarizing yourself with and adhering to job-specific company standards at all times;
- Attending relevant training sessions to stay informed about company procedures;
- Responding to temperature alarms and calls when necessary;
- Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation and being within a 30-40 minute radius when on call;
- Being flexible to accommodate unexpected breakdowns or equipment failures beyond contracted hours;
This role requires:
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment principles;
- Punctuality and approachability;
- Able to think ahead when necessary;
- Compliance with COSHH guidelines at all times;
- Support for the company's Environment, Health, and Safety policies and procedures;
- Taking responsibility for driving performance and engagement through their teams;
- Understanding the Quality Regulatory framework and its impact on their specific business unit;
- Assuring compliance with all organisation policies and procedures;
- Establishing and implementing a continuous improvement plan;
- Associates are required to assure compliance with all organisation policies and procedures and fully support the delivery of their functional continuous improvement plan.
