Job Title: Buyer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Inventory Coordinator to oversee the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment for our manufacturing operations. This role involves managing the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of materials, controlling stock levels, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement: Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and place purchase orders to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and control inventory levels to prevent excess and shortages, conduct regular inventory audits, and maintain accurate records.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, collaborate with suppliers to improve delivery times, quality, and cost-efficiency, and resolve any disputes or issues with suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and analyse procurement costs to ensure budget compliance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation, and prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities and performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer, Materials Controller, or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
