About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychotherapist/Applied Psychologist to join our team at Kent & Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality therapeutic services to adults with complex emotional difficulties and trauma histories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Therapeutic Group Work: Deliver large and small group psychotherapy sessions, utilizing a Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) informed approach.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with service users in informal settings, such as lunch breaks and social spaces, to promote therapeutic relationships and support.
  • Clinical Assessment and Formulation: Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop formulations for complex service users with a history of trauma.
  • Clinical Risk Management: Identify and manage clinical risks, ensuring the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Care Planning: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
  • Safeguarding: Safeguard service users and vulnerable adults and children within their network.
Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications: Specialist postgraduate training to Masters level or equivalent in Psychotherapeutic modality, leading to accreditation/registration with HCPC/UKCP.
  • Professional Background: Professional background in a mental health discipline to at least first-degree level (e.g., nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, psychiatric medicine).
  • Relevant Training: Relevant specialist training in the skills required for the specialty area.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Desirable Qualifications: Evidence of further CPD training in areas relevant for the client group (MBT, DBT, EMDR therapy models, approaches for specific client groups, legislation).
  • Desirable Experience: Experience of MBT model, experience of TCs.
