About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Clinical Healthcare Professional to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical and mental healthcare services to prisoners within HMP Wandsworth.

Key Responsibilities
  • To play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of an effective integrated healthcare service clinical model, ensuring that all clinics are delivered in a clinically effective, efficient, and timely manner, in line with service needs.
  • To lead in the implementation of evidence-based practice, promoting quality and outcome-driven care on a day-to-day basis.
  • To supervise and support junior staff, providing direct line management, leadership, and training to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  • To work collaboratively with other professionals, organisations, and agencies to promote health and prevent disease, developing and maintaining close working partnerships with HMPS, senior management teams, and staff, probation services, CPS, police, and all other statutory and non-statutory agencies that are integral to offender care and offender management.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 12-18 months' experience at Band 5 level, with a strong understanding of current issues and agendas facing prison and offender healthcare.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, presenting ideas with clarity and persuasiveness.
  • Knowledge of current National Prison Health Quality and Performance Indicators.
