About the Role

Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a skilled Mobile Handyperson to join their team on a Kent County Council contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventive and Reactive Maintenance, as well as assisting with works to the M&E Services. This will include small works and emergency procedures, with the role also encompassing seasonal gritting to the estate.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in building maintenance, manual handling, and a willingness to develop and learn. They will be able to provide efficient management and organisation of workload, work unsupervised, and be proactive in reporting health and safety issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs to fire doors, doorframes, and associated fittings and fixtures.
  • Perform minor Carpentry repairs to doors, door frames, windows, and timber constructions.
  • Replace and install locks.
  • Carry out general labouring duties, including furniture churn and gutter clearances.
  • Participate in overtime on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in building maintenance.
  • Manual handling.
  • Ability to provide efficient management and organisation of workload.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and be proactive.
  • Good communication skills and ability to create trust.
